Deepak Malhotra is a registered United States Patent attorney with over 20 years experience in patent preparation and prosecution. Admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Deepak has represented clients from all over the World in patent and trademark matters.

Deepak has assisted individuals, small companies, and large companies in seeking protection of their intellectual property rights in the areas of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and the computer arts. He has also worked to help these clients manage their patent and trademark portfolios. Deepak particularly enjoys working with software-based inventions and business method patents but has represented clients in diverse fields such as software, RF communications, sensors, smart cards, ESD protection, tape drives, disk drives, servo systems, printers, static memory cells, dynamic memory cells, databases, publishing systems, RF collision arbitration systems, marketing systems, electron multipliers, digital clock recovery loops, etc. He has also represented inventors in the automotive, environmental and wastewater treatment arenas.

Deepak significantly contributes to the Rhodes Vela legal team. In the event that an invention is believed to have been infringed upon, Deepak helps evaluate the strength of the case and helps ensure that vigorous enforcement occurs.

Deepak has an "AV" rating (highest possible) in the Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating system. He obtained his bachelor's degree from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and his J.D. from Marquette University School of Law. He is currently admitted to the Washington State Bar and was previously admitted to the State Bar of Wisconsin. He is licensed to practice before United States Courts for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, the Western District of Wisconsin, and the Eastern District of Washington. In addition, he is licensed to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
